Restylane is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance already present in the human body that plays an important role in giving firmness to the skin, shape to the eyes, and lubrication to the joints. Hyaluronic acid has the important ability to attract and bind to water molecules to help maintain volume. Hyaluronic acid is in fact the main building block of collagen in the body. Restylane is fully biocompatible and treatments can be carried out immediately with no need to wait for allergy testing. Restylane utilizes NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid), the first stable, biodegradable, non-animal hyaluronic acid. As a non-animal product, there is limited risk of animal based disease transmission or allergic reaction. Restylane adds volume, helping you to look fresher and more youthful, or to shape your facial features to create a more distinctive personal appearance.
